Cal Ripken Jr. was an amazing baseball player. He is a man who was a great player for almost 18 season and he is a man that was responsible for the most memorable moment in American baseball history, as voted by the fans of this great sport. Cal Ripken Jr. was a short stop and third baseman during his time in the game and he played for the Baltimore Orioles. He was a terrific player and a man who was the very embodiment of consistency. In fact, Cal Ripken Jr. never missed a game. He has the record for the most number of consecutive appearances on the baseball field.

When you think about it, it sounds like a simple record. But it is unbelievable. He beat a 56 year old record of more than 2,300 consecutive games. No one ever thought that record could be beaten. But, from 1982 to 1998 Cal Ripken Jr. never missed a game. He played every single minute for the Baltimore Orioles and was always great. In fact, in the game that broke the record he hit a home run. This shows he was not a waning talent but still a man who was completely influential over his team.
